Music has always been somewhat therapy for me. It possesses a power to touch the deepest parts of my soul and provide comfort, regardless of the circumstances I find myself in. No matter what mood I am or whatever energy I'm channeling that day, music is always there to vibe with my vibe. It's like a trusted companion that understands me without judgment. And it has definitely served its purpose better than I think than talking to a therapist in times that were hard in my life. As I imagine, it does for most people.
I believe that in the face of life's inevitable hardships, God provides us with an array of tools to assist us in coping. These tools come in various forms, such as the support of loved ones, music, meditation, community, and etc. As I reflect on the wonders and advancements of modern medicine, I can't help but feel immense gratitude. However, amidst this amazement, a concern tugs at my heart. It seems that in our eagerness to embrace the advancements, we may have accidentally overlooked the importance of relying on God's tools to navigate us through the trials of life. Instead, we have become increasingly dependent on various medications that numb us to the pain we encounter. While these coping mechanisms may provide temporary relief, they don't offer the enduring comfort that comes from seeking spiritual guidance.
I have to admit, embracing my anxiety attacks or the overwhelming grief that has troubled me at certain points in life has never been enjoyable. There were moments when I looked for comfort in various distractions, attempting to numb the pain that I was trying to run from. However, I soon realized that these temporary comforts only prolonged the healing process and hindered my ability to truly move forward. I came to understand that facing my emotions head-on, as difficult as it may be, is the only way to achieve genuine resolution and growth.
I truly believe that one of life's greatest gifts is the ability to truly experience and feel every single emotion that comes our way. Whether it's happiness, love, or excitement, or even sadness, anger, or pain, these emotions are what remind us that we are alive. They tell us that we have the capacity to feel deeply and connect with the world around us. Emotions are not meant to be avoided or suppressed; rather, they should be embraced and acknowledged. They provide us with invaluable insights into our own selves, helping us understand who we are and what truly matters to us.
It is crucial that we rekindle our faith, remembering that God's wisdom and healing tools are essential in our journey, complementing of modern medicine. By acknowledging both the scientific and spiritual aspects of our existence, we can truly find the strength to overcome life's challenges. Amidst these ebbs and flows, it is important to remember the strength and resilience that resides within us. When pain inevitably crosses our path, let us not succumb to the temptations of numbness. Instead, may we draw upon the tools and gifts that God has instilled in us.
