The Inner Warrior

As a child, I have vivid memories of being captivated by movies featuring warriors and heroes, watching in awe at their fearless determination to protect mankind and their loved ones. Or in school, coming across stories of inspiring individuals from history who displayed immense courage by standing up for what they believed in, even knowing it meant maybe their life.

As I have gotten older, I find myself often thinking how my perspective on things has evolved over the years compared to my younger self. I used to wonder why certain individuals seemed to possess the innate capability to embody heroism and warrior-like qualities, while others appeared to lack it.

However reflecting on the conversations from my years of chatting with clients while styling hair, it's become clear that my perspective on heroism has changed. The older I get and the more life experiences I gather, the more I realize that the essence of heroism lies within each of us.

While most of us aren't making headlines or setting box office records, we all at some point have our own silent battles. It's in these moments that we discover our inner warrior – a strength we didn't realize we had. Maybe these battles don't make it to the mainstream media, but they are no less significant.

In the intricate web of life, our battles are varied and deeply personal. From the silent struggles of addiction and mental health to the relentless fight against cancer, the challenges we face are as diverse as we are. Whether it's the quiet strength of single parents keeping a brave face for their children or the raw pain of heartbreak and grief, each battle requires a huge amount of inner courage that often goes unnoticed. These battles, though not waged on a battlefield, demand a resilience that can only be discovered when we find ourselves in the very heart of our difficulties.

I often find peace in the thought that the love God has for each of us mirrors a parent's unconditional love for their children. Just as I strive to equip my own children with the skills to navigate life's challenges, I believe our creator instills in all of us the resilience and strength needed to face whatever comes our way. It's like we are all crafted with a warrior-like spirit that emerges precisely when we require it most.
