We're All Birdies

I've always loved my red cardinals. They have always made their selves known to me throughout my life when I needed them the most. It's an amazing thing to think about, isn't it? The universe making enough ruckus to bring attention to you, that the coincidence isn't a coincidence. That there is actual significance to all your little birdies around you.

My birdies have even made themselves known in seasons of my life when I didn't even want them too. They would flutter around even when I wasn't in the right mind set to receive their love and little gestures. When I was younger, I would get frustrated because I was still so self-reliant on what I thought I needed or knew what was best. Now, I realize that maybe those birdies know best.

Throughout my hair career I have had the pleasure of having many people sit down in my chair. Although I love doing hair, I can honestly say the conversations I have had with people are my favorite. Over the years, I have had chats with people that I needed to have that day, or they did. I don't know how many times I have heard, that's so strange you said that. Or wow, I needed to hear that today. Those conversations have shown me the beauty of people are birdies too.

It's a beautiful thing to think about, isn't it? That there are times in our lives that we get to be a birdie for someone. We can reflect and think about all the times that we knew we helped someone. Or what's even more beautiful to think about, are the times we didn't even know how much we helped someone. We fully don't know the magnitude of what a random smile or compliment did for someone that day. As well as the help we gave someone from the conversations we had with them.

Our birdies or whatever beautiful sign or synchronicities you have in your life our God's gentle gestures. They are subtle but eye catching enough to catch his love or to let us know he has not left us in a season of despair. The birds, the dreams, the signs, and the people are never random. The questions and answers you seek are all around you. Even though we often want to write them off as silly. Everything he does has purpose, and he will always find a way to let you know his love is still near.

I often think about a quote from one of my favorite movies, Forest Gump. Forest says,

"I don't know if we each have a destiny, or if we're all floating around accidental-like on a breeze, but I, I think it's both. Maybe both is happening at the same time." Life can feel a lot like that sometimes. Where we are all just floating around, and we don't know why the wind pushes us one way. Yet, God always does. All of us are birdies, and we get used time and time again in our life. Sometimes we do know, sometimes we don't know, but our maker always will.
