Fried Green Tomatoes

Being a creative soul who finds joy in writing, hairstyling, and other outlets, I often feel my inspiration to create come in waves. The hustle and bustle of juggling motherhood, work responsibilities, and the demands of adult life can undoubtedly put a damper on my creativity at times.

This week, was one of those weeks of feeling my inspiration non existent. As I tried to get back into the swing of things with the kids heading back to school and diving straight into all their extracurricular activities. It seemed like there was barely a moment to pause and reflect on what I wanted to write for my beloved Super Should Sundays.

It's amazing how inspiration has a way of sneaking up on us when we least expect it? It's like a surprise that adds a sprinkle of magic to our ordinary moments. Whether it's a song playing out of the blue, a meaningful conversation with a friend, stumbling upon an influential figure on social media, or like me, a delicious appetizer at dinner last night.

As I sat there, savoring each bite of my fried green tomatoes, my mind wandered to one of my all-time favorite movies that never fails to bring me joy on those lazy Sunday afternoons. I've always loved this movie for its message about the profound impact people can have on our lives, even when we least anticipate it. The film beautifully conveys the notion that stories, whether heard in our childhood or during adulthood, possess a timeless power to shape and inspire us, compelling us to pass on their wisdom to others in need of guidance.

I've been fortunate to have crossed paths with countless unintentional storytellers in my life. Their stories have stirred a range of emotions within me - from belly laughter to tears streaming down my face, and moments of deep personal self- examining. Or the realization from the stories being told to me, life is like unwrapping a precious gift - it's a beautiful journey filled with experiences that range from the good to the deeply sad. Each story told, whether uplifting or heartbreaking, adds depth and richness to our existence.

Some of the most heartfelt laughs and tears I've shed were over family holidays, over a story that's been told countless times. Or ironically at funerals, when everyones mind floods of all their favorite times with that person over their life.

We were made to tell stories; it's woven into our very beings by God. Storytelling is how we reach the depths of others' spirits and forge connections that transcend time and space. It's all too easy to overlook the many stories that we carry within us, each a product of the countless experiences we've lived through. Whether it's sharing wisdom, offering a much-needed laugh, or providing peace to someone navigating a challenging journey, our stories hold the power to unite us in our human experiences.

Your stories, no matter how small you think they are, hold more value than you can imagine. Your words have a way of lingering in the air, creating ripples that might reach places you never dreamed of. Who knows, your story could be the beacon of light someone has been searching for all along.
